Jill and Randy Stevens had decided to sell their Roswell home of 20 years and move into a retirement community. Their neighbor suggested they talk with me and when we met for our Initial Consultation, they made it clear that who the buyers were was as important as getting a good price for their home. Moreover, don’t Realtors have any respect for my inbox and that even with high-speed internet it is crazy to be sending such huge, useless, files.  I digress, but if you want a Realtor to work for you who understands technology and how to use it - and how not to un-necessarily annoy people with it, then please call me.

Three years ago I helped Paul and Gloria purchase their first home in Alpharetta. Now, with two children and a third on the way, they called and asked me to help them sell their home and find a larger house for their growing family.

Paul and Gloria’s home was in a nice neighborhood and had appreciated – but in this current market, not nearly as much as they’d thought. They were disappointed with my suggested listing price and said they’d think it over and get back to me. I didn’t hear from them for 10 days, then I discovered they’d listed their house with another agent – for $30,000 more than the price I’d suggested.

Four months later, when their listing expired, Paul and Gloria called, apologized, and asked me to list their home to sell. We sold the house in 47 days, and now they’re packing and preparing to move into their new four-bedroom home also in Johns Creek.

Everyday, I call people whose homes have expired from the market without selling.  I do this because I think that they could use my help.

If I don’t reach the people on the phone, I call them back.  And I call them back.  And I call them back.  Basically, I keep calling them until they relist their house or die.

In the last ten days, I’ve had two expired sellers thank me for my persistance.

One lady told me that I’d called her so many times that she felt badly for not calling me back.  Another man to me that he appreciated my persistance because he was in sales, too, and understood what it took to be successful.

Some people, on the other hand, (who probably aren’t in sales) are disturbed by my persistance.  People sometimes are rude, yell at me and/or hang up in my face.  I can’t help those people.

I think persistance is a quality that you want in your realtor.  What do you think?
